Reflecting on 2022: kickstarting infinitSpace’s global expansion

Written by Maria Bichl | Dec 20, 2022 10:48:21 PM

2022 is drawing to a close. Naturally, as one chapter closes another begins. But before getting too excited over all the plans we have in store for next year, we wanted to take the opportunity to reflect upon our achievements this year. It’s been a busy one!

Despite global economic turbulence rocking the world, infinitSpace has remained steadfast; in fact, it’s been a year of enormous growth across the company.

Sharing the immense benefits of flex workspaces, building our brand, growing the infinitSpace team and creating global expansion opportunities are but some of our successes this year.

Here’s a breakdown of some of our highlights and achievements of the year.

1. Welcoming new team members

The infinitSpace team continued to expand with brilliant, passionate and hard-working new members. We welcomed a host of new employees in Amsterdam and London, including an entire team dedicated to managing the operations and community of over 1200 members at beyond Aldgate Tower. All in all, we doubled our team in 2022!

2. Launching our flagship flexible workspace and the ‘beyond’ brand

In March 2022, we hit a major milestone with the launch of infinitSpace’s flagship flexible workspace, one of the biggest flexible workspace locations in the UK  in partnership with Brookfield Properties. Situated across 61,000 square feet at the iconic Aldgate Tower in London, the partnership marked the launch of the ‘beyond’ flexible workspace brand and new state-of-the-art flexible workspace beyond Aldgate Tower

Since opening just months ago, the space has become a roaring success, and we’re proud to have developed a thriving community of business professionals from a range of SMEs and enterprise companies from different sectors. We take pride in the fact that our beyond app services over 2,500 members, and we have had 300,000 check-ins since opening our doors in March. Our incredible members have also managed to raise over £100 million in funding since moving, proving that a great flexible workspace is instrumental to success.

3. Making waves with hard-hitting exclusive research

Over the summer we commissioned an independent study which unveiled some incredible insights into how business leaders and their employees were managing the ‘big return’ to the office following the pandemic.

This garnered significant buzz in the media and further grew our brand visibility, featuring in renowned publication City A.M. as well as industry-leading trade publications Property Wire and London Loves Business.

4. Championing ESG

At infinitSpace, we are determined to deliver robust ESG policies, placing the well-being of our members, our society and our planet at the core of everything we do. Whether it be implementing cutting-edge green technology across our workspaces. Or using our massive floor spaces to promote and amplify voices through events which celebrated Black vendors and empowered female entrepreneurs to boost their public speaking skills, in 2022 we put people first. Here’s to much more in 2023.

5. Celebrating success at the party of the year

When infinitSpace creates a workspace, championing changemakers who are bringing ground-breaking businesses to market is at the core of our vision.

So, how better to celebrate them than with a party? Our Building Better Businesses party took place at beyond Aldgate Tower in September. It was a night to remember, featuring a panel discussion hosted by renowned business experts, great food and drinks and all manner of fabulous entertainment.

Don’t take our word for it, though. See for yourself!

6. Building our brand profile & earning top-shelf media coverage

Getting people talking and excited about the brand was a top priority — one we most certainly met. This year saw the infinitSpace brand and our co-founders featured across a host of top-tier publications. Company announcements as well as founder interviews and comments graced the Telegraph, the Times, the Evening Standard, iNews and Property Week.

Our founders’ expertise led to them emerging as industry-disrupting thought leaders, with their unique insights featured in a number of major trade publications like Property Wire and Property Reporter

They weighed in on a range of the hottest debates in the flex workspace and CRE industry, from sustainability and technological innovation to social issues like loneliness at work.

7. Striking deals and widening our horizons

Partnering with Singapore-based flex workspace provider ‘Vallist has opened some exciting doors for infinitSpace. Designed to streamline the transition to flex space for landlords and meet huge global demand, the partnership enables both companies to combine their different areas of industry expertise and international footholds and offer a fresh, compelling proposition.

Meanwhile, we modelled over £1 billion in underwriting of flexspaces while negotiating with top commercial landlords across Europe and have some incredible new projects in the pipeline. Keep an eye out for announcements early in the new year, and mark your calendars for Germany, the UK, and the Netherlands.

infinitSpace has no plans to slow down any time soon, only to accelerate. After all, surging market demand is fueling our growth as 46% of landlords across the globe, not only the UK, are looking to use flexspace to generate additional income. We have always been an international business and the partnerships we have formed this year reflect that. Our aim is to have established 25 flexible workspaces in hotspots across Europe by the end of 2023 — and perhaps even further afield.

Given that flexible workspaces are a more human-centric and innovative workplace offering, with a unique ability to build community and promote creativity, it’s no surprise that they are only growing in popularity. In 2023, infinitSpace will continue its mission to foster human connections, facilitated by world-class flexible workspaces that reward all users.
